What if I need reasonable adjustments for the exam?

We’re committed to making DGSA exams as accessible as possible — but there are some formal steps to follow.

📝 Reasonable Adjustments (e.g. extra time, rest breaks)

If you have a learning need, disability or health condition that requires adjustments (such as additional time or a reader), you can request this at the time of booking. These requests are reviewed and approved by the awarding body, Qualifications Scotland.

Important: Requests must be made at least 4 weeks before exam day. We can’t guarantee Qualifications Scotland approval if the request is made after this point.

We’ll guide you through the paperwork and liaise with Qualifications Scotland on your behalf.

🌐 Translated exam versions

The exam is available in Welsh, if requested in advance. Other languages are not currently supported for UK-based candidates.

💬 Not sure what to request?

If you’re unsure whether your needs qualify or what support might help, just get in touch. We’re happy to talk through the options in confidence.
